The armed forces will be deployed from December 25 to January 5 to assist the local civilian administration in peace and order on the occasion of the election. The Home Ministry said what the armed forces would carry out at this time.
The Home Ministry’s Public Safety Department was issued on Thursday (December 25th).
In accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure and other Acts and the proceedings of the Armed Forces, according to the provisions of the seventh and tenth paragraphs of the Icenstraction Aid to the Civil Power, issued by the Ministry of Defense.
Armed forces will be deployed at the upazila/police station as per the requirement with the returning officer and the armed forces will assist other law enforcement agencies for law and order.
The members of the armed forces will stay in the nodal point and other convenient location in each district-upazila-Metropolitan area and will conduct patrol and other avijayal activities through coordination with the returning officer as needed.
In the wake of the demand of the returning officer or presiding officer, they will be responsible for the peace and order of the voting room.
Executive magistrates will be appointed with the team of the Armed Forces and activities will be adopted in law, rules and procedurally.
The Navy will perform the duties as needed in the coastal area. Considering the risk, the number of members of the armed forces employed in each district can be less/higher in consultation with the Returning Officer.
Considering the situation, it will ensure the safety of important roads/highways in the direction as needed. The Air Force will provide the necessary number of helicopters and transportation aircraft at the Home Ministry’s Public Safety Department, the Election Commission Secretariat and forces.
According to the directive of the concerned Returning Officer, the area -based deployment plan will be finalized.
According to the reality and requirements, other legal activities should be performed at the request of the Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officer.
