On the first day of the 48-hour strike called by BNP and like-minded parties, miscreants threw cocktails at a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw on Kazi Alauddin Road in Old Dhaka. In this incident, the CNG caught fire. The incident took place on Sunday (November 19) near the One Star Hotel on Kazi Alauddin Road.

According to local sources, the CNG autorickshaw was standing near the wall of the fire service and civil defense headquarters. At that time, when the cocktail suddenly fell on the glass in front of CNGT, the glass was shattered. Later CNG also caught fire. However, there were no casualties.

The matter was confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge of Fire Service Media (OC-Media) Shahjahan Sikder.

He said, this incident happened around 8:30 in the morning. After the cocktail was thrown, the CNG caught fire. Members of the fire service went and extinguished the fire.
