The United States will deploy a thousand troops in Gaza!

International Desk, The CNN :

Children are dying almost daily of starvation and malnutrition due to the ongoing war in the Palestinian-besieged Gaza. Millions of people there are in extreme food crisis. Some countries, including the United States, have sent relief from the sky to solve the food crisis. But that doesn’t solve it either. Rather, under the relief, death is occurring later. As a result, US President Joe Biden has announced the construction of a temporary port in Gaza to allow humanitarian aid to arrive by sea. He also said that the US military itself will build this temporary port.

Joe Biden made this announcement on Thursday. For this purpose, he said somewhere in the deployment of 1000 US troops in Gaza.

Pentagon Press Secretary Major General Patrick Ryder told reporters in Washington, DC, “The US military is planning to deploy 1,000 troops to build a temporary port in Gaza.”

He said, “The plan for the construction of the port is still in the initial stage, but it may take up to 60 days to build it”.

The port system involves two separate components, the first being the construction of a floating, offshore barge capable of receiving relief supplies. The U.S. military would then take relief aid from there to a floating, 1,800-foot-long causeway anchored to the shore.

Ryder said no US troops would enter Gaza during the construction of the port.

However, the plan to build a temporary port in Gaza has been criticized by many. Avril Benoit, executive director of Doctors Without Borders, an organization that provides medical services in Gaza, said in a post on social media X that the people of Gaza desperately need food, water and medical supplies sitting across the border. Instead of looking to the US military, the US should emphasize immediate relief delivery using already existing roads and access points’.
