A mother with two children committed suicide due to debt pressure in North Islampur of Kayin Union in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj. After receiving information from the locals, the police went to the spot around 11:00 and recovered the bodies of the mother and two children from the residence. The police said that this incident happened on Sunday (February 25) morning.
The deceased – mother Saima Begum (33) and her daughter Chaimuna (11) and son Tawheed (7). Ali Mia, the husband of deceased Saima Begum, is a resident of Saudi Arabia.
The deceased Saimar Ja Rozina Akhtar said that he was in debt. Interest money was taken from different NGOs at different times. On Sunday morning, the creditor came and found the door locked and left. Later, I informed the police after not being able to heal them. The police believe that the mother first confirmed the death of the two children by poisoning. Later the mother committed suicide by hanging herself.
Munshiganj District Additional Superintendent of Police (Sirajdikhan Circle) Mostafizur Rahman Rifat said that after receiving the news, the police went to the spot and recovered the bodies of the mother along with two children. Preparations are underway to send the body to Munshiganj General Hospital for post-mortem. It is believed that the mother with two children committed suicide due to debt pressure. Details will be known after the investigation.
