Nomination papers of Jatiya Party nominees Advocate Salma Islam (Dhaka) and Noorun Nahar Begum (Thakurgaon) have been submitted to the Election Commission (EC) for the reserved women seats in the 12th National Parliament. On Sunday (February 18) appeared at the Election Commission and submitted nomination papers.

After submitting the nomination papers, the general secretary of the party, Mojibul Haque Chunnu, told reporters that the Jatiya Party got two seats by dividing the 50 reserved women seats according to the law of the Jatiya Sangsad. According to the decision of the Jatiya Party Parliamentary Board, party co-chairman Salma Islam and Thakurgaon district Jatiya Party former president Nurun Nahar are both tested and dedicated old workers of my party. I have submitted their nomination for the reserved seats on behalf of the party.

Mujibul Haque said that the Jatiya Party will play the role of a strong and effective opposition party in the Parliament as last time. Parliament can be made effective if 13 members of Jatiya Party play an effective role.
