Jatiya Party has sold 1 thousand 737 nomination forms in 300 constituencies to participate in the 12th Jatiya Sangsad elections. The party’s main sponsor Roshan Ershad and one of the leaders Mosiur Rahman Ranga did not collect the nomination form even on the fourth and last day of the sale of forms. In such a situation, the time for distributing the party’s nomination form has been extended by one day.

This information was confirmed to RTV Online on Thursday (November 23) evening by the office secretary of the party, Sultan Mahmud.

He said, till today, Roshan Ershad and Mosiur Rahman Ranga have not collected the party nomination form. Apart from this, they did not contact us regarding the collection of forms. However, they have spoken to the general secretary of the party (Mujibul Haque Chunnu). The Secretary General asked them to collect the forms. I can’t say anything else after that.

Meanwhile, Thursday was the last day for sale of Jatiya Party nomination forms. But later the time for sale of forms was extended till Friday (November 24).

When asked whether the period of sale of nomination form has been extended only for Roshan-Ranga, Sultan Mahmud, office secretary of the party, said that many people in the party from far and wide have requested the party chairman to extend the period. That is why he ordered to extend the period till Friday.

Meanwhile, when Masiur Rahman called Ranga to inquire about the collection of nomination forms, one of his private secretary answered the call and said, ‘He (Ranga) is in a meeting.’ did not agree He asked the reporter to contact him again on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Jatiya Party Secretary General Md. Mujibul Haque Chunnu said, Roshan Ershad is our main sponsor and honor. If he is elected, we will continue to support him in every way possible.

Earlier, sale of nomination form of Jatiya Party started on November 20. On the first day of sale of nomination forms (November 20), 557, 622 on November 21, 331 on November 22 and 227 on November 23 were sold.

It should be noted that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced the schedule of the 12th National Assembly elections on the evening of November 15. According to the schedule, the voting for the 12th National Assembly elections will be held on January 7, 2024.

Apart from this, the last date for submission of nomination papers is 30 November, scrutiny of nomination papers is from 1 to 4 December, appeal and disposal against cancellation of nomination is from 6 to 15 December, last date for withdrawal of candidature is 17 December, allotment of symbols is 18 December and election campaign is from 18 December to 5 January.
