Israel approves four-day ceasefire proposal

International Desk, The CNN :

Israel has approved a four-day ceasefire proposal in the Palestinian Gaza Strip as part of a prisoner exchange deal. The Israeli government announced this information in a statement on Wednesday (November 22).

Although the statement did not mention the release of the prisoners, Israeli government sources said a majority of members of the meeting supported the proposal for a four-day truce in exchange for 50 hostages after it was presented to the war cabinet in Tel Aviv on Tuesday. However, there is no word on when the hostages will be handed over and when the ceasefire will start.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said progress was being made in talks on the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. I think it would not be appropriate to say more at this time. But I am hoping for good news very soon.

It should be noted that the Palestinian independence organization Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7. After the attack, they arrested several citizens of Israel. In response, Israel launched a counter-offensive by vowing to “raze the Gaza regime to the ground”. More than 12,000 Palestinians have been killed in the attack so far. Most of the dead were women and children.
