Injured worker died in police-labour clash

Gazipur’s Konabari Garment workers injured in police firing during the movement demanding salary increase. Jamal Uddin (40) died. The deceased worker was a worker of Islam Garments. He died on Saturday (November 11) around 1 am while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital.

Deceased Jamal Uddin is the son of Chan Mia of Ghasali Bazar area of Kendua Upazila of Netrakona.

Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical Police Camp Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter and said that a garment worker named Jalal Uddin was shot dead during the protest demanding salary increase in Gazipur. He died in ICU bed number 6 while undergoing treatment at night.

On November 8, Jamal Uddin, a worker of Islam Group, was shot dead by the police in Konabari Jurun area of Gazipur. Later he was rescued and brought to Dhaka Medical. Besides, Islam Group worker Anjuara Khatun was killed on the spot by police firing.
