Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed inaugurated the sculpture ‘We will not forget you’ built in memory of the seven great sons of the Bengali nation, considered as a symbol of the glory, sacrifice and bravery of the Bengali nation.

On Sunday (November 12), he inaugurated the sculpture built in Matikata Military Police Checkpost area of Dhaka Cantonment.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) informed this in a press release.

It is also said in the circular that on March 26, 1971, responding to the call of independence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali father of the nation, the Bengali members of the armed forces jumped shoulder to shoulder with the masses and jumped into the liberation war and on December 16, 1971, independent sovereign Bangladesh was achieved. Behind the achievement of this independence are the supreme sacrifices of 3 million martyrs and seven fearless Bir Shreshtras.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior military officers, other officers, junior commissioned officers, other ranks and media representatives.
