News desk, The CNN :

Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmood said that discussions are going on to take back members of Myanmar’s Border Guard Force (BGP). He said these things at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (February 6) at noon.

Foreign Minister and Awami League joint general secretary. Hasan Mahmud said that the ambassador of Myanmar was summoned today and strongly protested the incident of sheltering their border guards and the death of two people by mortar shells.

Today, the Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit Delhi for three days. In response to the question whether the situation in Myanmar will be discussed during the visit, he said, “I am scheduled to go to India and meet the Foreign Minister, Commerce Minister and Security Advisor of that country.” There we will discuss the overall issues, as Myanmar is India’s neighbor and our neighbor too.

He also said that we have always sought India’s cooperation. We have long sought India’s assistance in taking back those forcibly evicted from Myanmar. So these issues will naturally come up for discussion.

Earlier, Norwegian Ambassador to the Ministry Aspen Richter Vendsen and Vatican Ambassador Archbishop Kevin Stewart Randall paid a courtesy call on the minister. They discussed to further the bilateral relations.
