Campaign against food hoarding and counterfeit currency should be intensified: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the campaign against food hoarding and fake currency should be strengthened in view of the upcoming Ramadan month and Eid. Appropriate measures should be taken. The Prime Minister said these things while addressing the chief guest at a function organized on the occasion of the organization’s 20th anniversary at the RAB headquarters in Kurmitola, capital, on Wednesday (March 6).

Sheikh Hasina said, the month of Ramadan is ahead. This month it is very unfortunate! Because Ramadan is called the month of moderation. But we see, at this time we have some unscrupulous businessmen, who instead of restraint become more greedy.

He also said that the daily products which we need more, they do various manipulations including hoarding, price increase. Adequate action should be taken against these unscrupulous traders as well as smugglers.

The head of government said that the supply of fake currency increases when Eid comes. All those matters should be monitored more. Although the campaign is going on in these matters, still you will continue that campaign. That is what we want.
