American Professor and Economist Claudia Goldin won the Nobel Prize in Economics. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm announced the name of the winner of the award in memory of Alfred Nobel at around 4:15 pm on Monday (October 9) Bangladesh time.
According to the Nobel Committee, Claudia Goldin has been awarded the prestigious prize for improving women’s understanding of the labor market. The Nobel committee also said that women’s contribution to the global labor market is underrepresented. They also get less wages than men in work. American professor Goldin has collected more than 200 years of data on this subject. Through this, he shows how and why the gender gap in earnings and employment rates has changed over time.
Claudia Goldin was born in 1946 in New York. He is a professor at Harvard University.
