State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak MP said, now the tool of global victory is a smart laptop. 20-25 lakh youth enter the workforce every year. It is not possible to give jobs to everyone. Not everyone can move to Europe, the Middle East. Then you have to create an area of financial self-sufficiency in your own village.
He said these things during the distribution of laptops to a total of 745 women trainees, including 240 from local and 240 from Chandpur and 265 from Laxmipur district under the ‘Har Power’ project at PTI ground in Feni city on Wednesday (January 31).
In the speech of the chief guest, he further said that dowry system was becoming a disease in the country. In 1996 Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s landmark decision to expand women’s education played an important role against dowry. There was once a male teacher in a primary school. Now 60 percent are women. Numerous decisions of the Prime Minister have created an empowering workplace for women. In 2008 there was no electricity in every house. Now 100% illuminated by electricity. Besides, there are 114 Sheikh Russell digital labs in Feni district under Information and Communication Technology Department, 100 more labs will be created. Internet prices will be further reduced in the next 5 months.
Under the chairmanship of Feni Deputy Commissioner Mushammat Shahina Akhtar, the special guests were Member of Parliament of Feni-1 Constituency Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury Nasim, Member of Parliament of Feni-2 Constituency Nizam Uddin Hazari, Superintendent of Police Zakir Hasan, E-CAB President Shami Kaiser.
Organized by the district administration and the Directorate of Information and Technology, Director General of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (Additional Secretary) Md. Mustafa Kamal Besides, Chaiti Saha of Feni, Israt Jahan Tanzina of Laxmipur district, Sabiha Zaman of Chandpur district spoke among the trainees.
After that, State Minister Palak visited the designated place to set up ‘Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center’ adjacent to Alauddin Ahmed Nasim College in Parashuram Upazila of the district.
