BNP has announced a black flag march across the country on January 30. On the same day, the ruling Awami League will hold a ‘Peace and Democracy’ rally with red-green flags in all cities, districts and upazilas of the country.
General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the new program at the ‘Peace and Democracy’ rally organized by Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Saturday (January 27).
In the chief guest’s speech at the rally, he said that BNP has called a black flag march on January 30. Awami League leaders and activists will be ready on that day. Peace and democracy rallies will be held across the country with red-green flags.
Obaidul Quader said, Gayeshwar Babu appeared in Paltan today, where was he all this time. He said, we will not find it alone. Now Gayeshwar Babu is unable to find Oligli. Looks like 15 years. There are 5 more years ahead. When will the movement be? Not after fasting or Eid. How many years do people live? People do not understand this movement. Calling strike, blockade, people do not come.
The bridge minister said, it scares foreigners. Sheikh Hasina elected the government with 41.8 percent voter turnout. It is the government of the people. No special government. Government elected by the people of Bangladesh. They marched with black flags. What does black flag mean, mourning procession. Black flag is false.
Earlier, Dhaka South Awami League leaders and activists started bringing a procession to the rally venue from noon. By four in the afternoon, the venue was packed to the brim. Leaders and activists chanted party slogans at the gathering place.
The rally was presided over by Abu Ahmed Mannafi, President of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League. Advocate Kamrul Islam, member of Awami League’s presidium, joint general secretary Dr. Central leaders of the party including Hasan Mahmud, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Hannan Mahmud, organizing secretary BM Mozammel Haque spoke.
