Karwan Bazar section of Dhaka Elevated Expressway will be opened today. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will inaugurate the ramp at 10 am on Wednesday (March 20). 16 ramps are being launched with this.
Immediately after the inauguration, vehicular movement will start through this stretch. If this ramp is opened, vehicles coming from Uttara via the elevated expressway will be able to get down at Moghbazar, Hatirjheel and Kaowran Bazar areas. The main length of Dhaka Elevated Expressway is 19.73 km. Its length including ramps will be 46.73 kilometers. When the entire work is completed, there will be a total of 31 ramps for vehicles to move on the expressway. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the first section of the expressway on September 2 last year. The next day the Kawla to Farmgate section of the airport was opened.
