Jasim Uddin has given Bengali literature a special seat in the court of the world: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that poet Jasim Uddin has highlighted the struggling life and livelihood of the people of rural Bengal in pages of literature. He placed Bengali literature in a special place in the court of the world. The extraordinary beauty of Abhaman Palli nature is revealed in the poetry of poet Jasim Uddin’s poetry, language, taste and color.

He said this in a speech given on the occasion of ‘Jaseem Pallimela 2024’ in Faridpur on Thursday (01 February). This fair is being organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of poet Jasim Uddin.

Welcoming the initiative of publishing a memorial on this occasion, the Prime Minister said, the greatest Bengali of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and poet Jasim Uddin were best friends. They had immense respect for each other. Poet Jasim Uddin always considered Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib as an inspiration for literature and culture.

He said, I believe, Jaseem Pallimela will make an important contribution in conveying the unique literary talent and patriotism of the poet to the people.

The Chief Minister wished the overall success of ‘Jaseem Pallimela-2024’.
