Minister of Fisheries and Livestock. Abdur Rahman said that fish, meat and eggs will be sold at affordable prices for marginalized people in view of holy Ramadan.
He said this to reporters at his office in the ministry on Wednesday (January 17) at 12:30 p.m.
He also said that the government is concerned about commodity prices. Production and storage conditions of all products are normal. Why is the price so high? It is being investigated. Why is the price of meat, eggs and fish high? Why are these beyond the power of people? It will be investigated and action will be taken. Those who are increasing the price of various products including eggs by syndicate will not be given any discount. Action will be taken by identifying where and how the manipulation takes place. Legal action will be taken against the cheaters. He also urged to increase public awareness against the syndicate.
Ahead of Ramadan, the government will provide subsidies to deliver these products to low-income people at affordable prices.
The minister also said that this program will start a few days before the start of Ramadan. These activities will be carried out in slum areas and some poor areas.
