In the United Nations briefing, the election of Bangladesh is again discussed

International Desk, The CNN :

The twelfth parliamentary election of Bangladesh has been discussed again in the press briefing of the United Nations. The organization has strongly criticized the violence and sabotage carried out by the opposition around the elections.

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ spokesman Stephane Dujarric answered various questions from journalists at the United Nations press briefing held on Monday (January 15) local time.

At that time, when the topic of Bangladesh election came up, Dujarric said, the vandalism and violence spread by the election opponents is not acceptable at all. I will repeat what I said earlier – we call on the parties to reject all forms of violence and ensure respect for human rights and the rule of law.

Earlier, in the post-election reaction on January 9, Stephen Dujarric expressed his regret that BNP and its like-minded people did not participate in the January 7 election and called for ensuring the human rights of every human being for the consolidation of democracy and economic progress in Bangladesh.
