Prime Minister’s Tribute on Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid deep respect to Bangabandhu on his historic homecoming day. On Wednesday (January 10) morning, the Prime Minister paid tribute by placing a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation kept in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi.

The Prime Minister stood there silently for a while and paid his respects to the great leader. Later Bangladesh Awami League President Sheikh Hasina placed another wreath on Bangabandhu’s portrait on behalf of the party along with the central leaders.

Later, leaders and workers of Awami League affiliated organizations including Jubo League, Chhatra League, Sramik League, Mahila Awami League, Swachhasebak League, Krishak League and various socio-cultural organizations paid tribute to Bangabandhu with flowers.

Bangabandhu returned to the independent-sovereign Bangladesh of his dream on January 10, 1972 after being freed from the Pakistani prison. On the occasion of Bangabandhu’s homecoming day, Awami League has organized various programs as always.

Apart from the morning programme, a public meeting was organized at Suhrawardy Udyan at 2.30 pm on the occasion of Homecoming Day. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will preside over the meeting.
