Awami League’s nominated candidate (boat symbol) won for the fourth time by getting 1 lakh 98 thousand 976 votes in Chittagong-7 (Rangunia-Boalkhali partial) seat in the 12th National Parliament Election. Hasan Mahmud.
Voting for the 12th National Assembly election began on Sunday (January 7) at 8 am. Runs non-stop till 4pm. Then the counting of votes started.

Muhammad Iqbal Hasan (candle symbol) got 9 thousand 301 votes. Besides, Jatiya Party’s Musa Ahmed Rana (Plow) got 2 thousand 206 votes, Trinamool BNP’s Khorshed Alam (Sonali Ansh) got 1 thousand 331 votes, Islamic Front’s Ahmad Reza (Chair) got 1 thousand 390 votes, Supreme Party’s Morshed Alam (Ekstar) got 1 thousand 130 votes.
According to Rangunia Upazila Election Office sources, the total number of voters this year is 3 lakh 13 thousand 91 in Chittagong-7 constituencies consisting of 1 union of Boalkhali and 1 municipality of Rangunia and 15 unions. Among them, 1 lakh 65 thousand 150 male voters and 1 lakh 47 thousand 941 female voters.
103 presiding officers and 621 assistant presiding officers and 1 thousand 242 polling officers served in 103 polling stations including 95 in Rangunia and 8 in Boalkhali partial part. At the same time, 4 executive magistrates, 2 judicial magistrates, 4 platoons of BGB and 2 platoons of the army also served.
By the way, Dr. Hasan Mahmud was elected MP for the first time in 2008 after defeating BNP heavyweight candidate Salauddin Quader Chowdhury on the party nomination of Awami League. Then he became an MP for the 2nd time in the 2014 election and for the 3rd time in the 2018 election for a hat trick and lastly in the 2014 twelfth national parliament election he was elected as an MP for the fourth time by winning the party nomination.
