A farmer named Sohan (40) was seriously injured in a bomb explosion in the field of Sholmari village of Meherpur Sadar Upazila. This incident happened on Wednesday (January 3) at around 11 o’clock.
Sohan has been referred to Kushtia Medical College Hospital from Meherpur General Hospital in critical condition. He is the son of Hamidul Islam of Sholmari village.
Mukul Hossain, a farmer of Sholmari village, said that while Sohan was working in his banana plantation, the farmers heard the sound of the bomb blast and came forward to see Sohan in a bloody state. From there he was brought to the hospital.
Injured Sohan’s mother Rokeya Khatun said that on the way home after work from the banana plantation, the bomb exploded under his feet in the grass. Sohan was injured.
The doctors of Meherpur General Hospital said that Sohan has serious injuries from bomb splinters on the right side of his chest, abdomen and arms and legs. He has been referred to Kushtia Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Meherpur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Koni Mia said that how the bomb exploded and where the bomb came from is being investigated. Further legal action will be taken after the investigation.
