Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said, if there is an attempt to rig even one vote, the polling of that center will be stopped immediately. The Returning Officer cannot change the vote. The results are declared at the center. Candidates can know the result at home.
He said this in an exchange meeting with the rival candidates in Barisal on Saturday (December 23) in the meeting room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Kazi Habibul Awal said, “Foreigners are active in conducting fair, free and impartial voting, so I am seeking cooperation from the candidates. I will tell you, trust the system. Voters have to vote, no one else will.
At that time, Secretary Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Barisal Range DIG Jamil Hasan, Police Commissioner Jihadul Kabir and senior administration officials and candidates were present in the Election Commission.
