The last day to file nomination papers for the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections is Thursday (November 30). Nominations can be submitted to the office of every returning officer and district-upazila election officer of the country till 5 pm.

According to EC sources, about 1500 nomination papers have been sold against 300 seats across the country till Wednesday evening. More than 300 candidates from different parties and independents have also submitted their nomination papers. Candidates have collected a total of 265 nomination papers in Dhaka district so far. Among them 39 candidates have also submitted.
Notable among the candidates who submitted their nomination papers are – Awami League candidate Jahangir Kabir Nanak for Dhaka-13 seat, Saber Hossain Chowdhury for Dhaka-9 seat, Awami League candidate for Dhaka-16 seat Ilyas Molla, Sanjida Khanam for Dhaka-4 seat, Asaduzzaman Khan for Dhaka-12 seat. , Mohammad Ali Arafat in Dhaka-17 constituency, Abul Kalam Azad of BNF in Dhaka-17 constituency, Sherifa Quader in Dhaka-18 constituency etc.
According to EC sources, all potential candidates will submit their nominations on Thursday (November 30), due to which there will be a huge crowd in the office of the Returning Officer.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed tomorrow Friday (December 1) to Monday (December 4). Candidates can appeal against the Returning Officer’s decision between December 6 and 15. Election symbols will be allotted among the candidates on December 18. Candidates can campaign from December 18 to January 5 at 8 am. And the polling will be held on January 7.
