The police barricaded the Yatrara Islamic Movement’s mass march towards the Election Commission (EC). The movement was led by the senior presidium member of the Islamic Movement, Principal Syed Muhammad Mosaddek Billah. The mass procession of the Islamic movement was stopped in Shantinagar of the capital due to the police. Meanwhile, the procession dispersed.
The Islamic movement took the program of mass march to protest the announcement of the schedule ahead of the 12th national parliament election.
On Wednesday (November 15) at 3:30 pm, the mass procession started from the north gate of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. Before this, the leaders of the Islamic movement held a short rally.
Speakers in the movement said that if the Election Commission announces the schedule in the evening, the Islamic movement will start a strict movement from tomorrow Thursday. A fair election can never be expected with the current Election Commission. The Election Commission wants to declare the schedule illegal to fulfill the government’s wish. The Islamic Movement will not allow this to happen. We want all parties to participate in the elections. The Election Commission has failed to create a fair election environment.
