152 platoon Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have been deployed across the country including Dhaka on the first day of the 48-hour total blockade called by the opposition including BNP.
BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam said in a message on Sunday that 152 platoons of BGB have been deployed across the country including 27 platoons in Dhaka and surrounding districts to control the law and order situation. Sufficient number of BGB platoons are on standby.
Earlier, various opposition political parties blocked roads, railways and waterways three times to demand the fall of the government. BGB members were responsible for controlling the law and order situation in these sieges.
