Today marks the fulfillment of another long-awaited dream of the people of South-West region. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Maowa for the official inauguration of the dream Padma Bridge Rail Link Project. He reached there around 11:15 am on Tuesday (October 10). Before this, he left for Maowa from the government residence Gonabhaban around 10:30 am.
172 km of railway has passed through Padma Bridge to Dhaka-Jesore. The work of 82 km of railway line up to Faridpur Bhanga of this ongoing project has been completed. The Prime Minister is scheduled to leave Mawa by train after the inauguration of the Mawa section. Later, Sheikh Hasina will address a special rally in Banga.
The train will run commercially a week after the inauguration. The railway authorities have already completed the initial steps of running the train experimentally.
After the official inauguration of the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project, the Prime Minister will reach Bhanga in Faridpur via Padma Bridge by train from Mawa in Munshiganj along with the guests. Dr. Bhangar there at 2 in the afternoon. Kazi Abu Yusuf will address the public meeting organized by Faridpur District Awami League at the stadium as the chief guest. Later at four in the afternoon will leave for Tungipara of Gopalganj district from Bhanga by road.
The railway authorities said that initially the train will stop at three stations. These are Mawa, Padma (Jazira) and Shivchar. Besides, Nimtala station in Munshiganj will be opened soon. In the meantime, all railway stations from Dhaka to Bhanga have been decorated with colorful decorations. The venue, the inaugural train has been arranged. Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan visited Kamalapur-Gendaria-Bhanga Junction.
According to project sources, for now the train will run from Kamalapur station to Bhanga via Padma Bridge. For this, a special train has been prepared consisting of seven new coaches purchased from China.
