Online Desk, The CNN :

50 thousand metric tons of onions are going to come from the country despite the ongoing ban on onion export in India. In the first phase, 1650 tons of onions can arrive tomorrow, Friday. Rezwanur Rahman, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce (Import and Domestic Trade Division) confirmed the matter to the media on Thursday (March 28) at the secretariat.

He said that in the first phase, 1,650 tons of onions are scheduled to arrive by train by March 29 (Friday). The remaining onions will be imported in stages.

It is known that the government has decided to import onion from India through JTUG method due to the abnormal increase in the price of onion in the country’s market. However, India’s domestic market prices increased and the country’s government stopped exports. Bangladesh is in trouble. At the same time, the price of the product suddenly increased in the country’s market.

But later on the basis of friendship, the Indian government allowed the export of onion to Bangladesh in limited form. Since then, the price of the product has gradually decreased in the country’s market. Finally yesterday Wednesday (March 27) a proposal to import 50,000 metric tons of onions from India was approved in principle in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.
